Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine combines R&B, jazz and soul in his signature style. Avery Sunshine's work has led her all over the world, from Broadway to European events and clubs, to even at the Democratic National Convention. The real name of Sunshine is Denise White. While she is a resident of Atlanta, she originates out of Chester Pennsylvania where she began her musical vocation by singing as well as playing the piano at church. After attending Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her journey of music in Atlanta's R&B culture. The year 2005 saw Tyler Perry hired her as the primary keyboardist in the stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who had worked on the stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her about being the choir leader of this theatrical production. Sunshine received national attention for several performances throughout the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was invited to perform as part of Obama's inaugural ceremony in 2009.
